![]() I just can't get past the "click on the edge of the screen to turn around or strafe" - "also use your cursor to aim at enemies" any more. But there's one issue I have with Shock 1 today. ^^ It's a great game and I don't really care about fancy graphics if the game doesn't have the need to rely on those. Unfortunately, the protagonist comes too late to rescue him, as a Rumbler picks Prefontaine up and puts him into the Many's digestive tract.I played the first System Shock back in the 90's and it gave me nightmares. Prefontaine was also able to collect weapons and equipment, storing them in various caches around the Many's body, and which were of use to the soldier later. The Audio Logs he leaves behind also give the player information on everything about the Many based on his examination. It is unknown as to why the Rumblers didn't kill the doctor, but because of his survival, he managed to observe more than anybody else. According to him, he didn't recall the actual abduction and likened it to the story of Pinocchio, except that nobody is going to rescue him. Soon he and other crew members, David and Claudette, were dragged into the Many's biomass by one of the flying creatures. This information was used by soldier G65434-2 to defeat Anatoly Korenchkin. Prefontaine was the first person to analyze the Psi Reaver and the brain unit, recording his observations in an Audio Log. He was also the first person to observe and record the biomass of the Many from the inside. Prefontaine was a scientist and a crew member of the Von Braun, who managed to avoid falling under the influence of the Many.
